Match Report
Bloxham School 2nd XV vs  Malvern College
On: Saturday, 16 Sep 2017
Venue: Away

The long trip over to the lovely rolling hills did not disappoint with road works aplenty and then some dubious music selection from Messrs. H.Stapleton and B.Staveley-Parker before Oasis restored some order.

The game was a fast paced affair with tackles flying in and penalties being awarded on a regular basis for both sides. Bloxham went ahead to an opportunistic try from Edet, breaking through the line and running half the length of the pitch to put the ball down under the posts. The opposition hit back with two tries taking the ball down the line to the wingers to stretch the defence that looked strong for much of the game. Prior scored a great try, taking it round three defenders and jinxing his way to put the ball under the posts. Morgan duly converted and a score of 12-10 was the way it stayed for the half. Injuries to the 1st XV slightly disrupted the side but Haylor and Rigby continued to put in big hits. A lack of concentration allowed for the home side to score and convert giving them a 19-12 lead with five minutes to go. The team have adopted a never give up attitude and a wonderful kick for touch allowed the lineout to be won and the ball to works its way back to the stand in fly half. He jinxed his way through to score the try that he then converted, much to the delight of the away team, crowd and coaches. Truly deserved and a good response to last week's disappointment. MoM: Morgan Haylor
