Match Report
Bloxham School Yearlings B vs  Cokethorpe School
On: Wednesday, 27 Sep 2017
Venue: Away

After recording their first victory of the season on Saturday against Pangbourne, hopes were high before the game that Bloxham would be able return with their second victory of the season. The first half was a tight affair; Bloxham went 12-0 down, but responded with a good try from Alex Myles who exploited the blind side to power over for a good try from 25 yards out. Unfortunately Cokethorpe however scored with the last play of the half to go in 17-5 up at the break.

Although Bloxham were replaying with the advantage of the hill in the second half, the strength of the Cokethorpe bench proved too much, with Cokethorpe crossing for five further tries. Bloxham did however score a second try of their own through Hamish Richards, which was well converted by Cameron Smith.

Whilst Bloxham were second best in the second half, the score itself was not an accurate reflection of what was a largely competitive game. Ollie Loudon, Alex Myles and Isaac Myles all made good ground in the middle of the pitch, and Hamish Richards and George Miley both impressed with their tackling. Key improvement targets to come out of the game were more direct running in the backs, and better ball retention, as often promising field position was lost after being turned over at the breakdown.
