Match Report
Bloxham School Colts A vs  Dean Close School
On: Saturday, 20 Jan 2018
Venue: Away

When the team sheet was finally produced, from last year's JCA team four were in the 1st XI and five others were unavailable. Dean Close had adapted their team, following a heavy defeat for Bloxham last year, and so, on a very chilly/wet afternoon, the match began on a newly laid water-based pitch. The aim was to absorb the pressure, disrupt their attacks, and then try to catch them on the break. The first half was played almost entirely in the Bloxham half with defending taking place deep in the Bloxham D. Jeffery was busy in goal and the defensive unit, lead by Bird and Lockhart, were under constant pressure. Two minutes before the break Dean Close broke the deadlock. The second half was a more even affair with both teams creating chances. Stitch began some mazy runs which created space for Oakey to prosper. five minutes from the end of the game Oakey equalized. 1-1 was a good result for the team and will hopefully provide some much needed confidence. Well done.
