Match Report
Bloxham School Girls-U18A vs  Denstone College
On: Saturday, 12 Sep 2020
Venue: Away

Saturday bought the first match of the season for the girls 1st 11 hockey team. After our pasta at break we were fuelled and ready to go, eager to embark on the 2 hour bus journey to Denstone College!! We sat in the luxury of a new mini bus thinking over all of Mr Yates's very catchy key principles for our term of hockey anticipating the arrival at Denstone.

On arrival it was a quick, yet intense warm up in the sunny conditions which faced us and after a quick team talk we were playing. The girls went out all guns blazing, trying to full fill Mr Yates's request of "making your first 5 pass's perfect." This lead to a well earned goal from Lottie Lee and another from Lucy Jenkins all within the first quarter. At half time, the girls were starting to feel tired so we aimed to use our transfer option more effectively and pass the ball around more. After conceding a goal, Bloxham responded with an exceptional short corner goal from Annie which secured a 3-1 win a happy team and happy coach.

This was an ideal start to the season, with many new faces making their debut's, the team kept the morale high and communication strong throughout the game. Man of the match was Annie who is a new member of the team, she slotted in perfectly and instantly became a valued member of the squad. Plenty to work on in preparation for Cheltenham Ladies next week
