A glorious Saturday afternoon in October saw a dominant display on the island from the visitors in front of a large crowd and the guest coach of SDAT, re-living the glory days of yesterday year due to JDW's absence and JR's temporary promotion.

The game consisted of four quarters, with water breaks at the half-way point of either half, which led to the game seemingly to last as long as our never ending bus journey. It is fair to say that Bloxham were in charge from the first minute and MCS were masters of their own downfall in the first half by conceding penalty after penalty by being offside or with their tackling often too high. 20 minutes in and Gonzalez ran in from 10 metres with a trademark run from off the fly half. Confidence grew and a second came with the ball working through the hands for the speedster Ash to score in the left corner, and Williamson slotted the conversion. The second half brought about a few changes, which also saw uncontested scrums after a demolition effort from Benson and Smyth meant the opposition could not contain the beasts up front. Despite a few moans from the noticeably upset Egertonian, Bloxham played it to their advantage with Captain Angus taking a lead with a pick up and go and bundle over to bring up a 17-0 lead. Man of the match Williamson scored a fine individual effort, with some shimmering footwork that would not have been out of place on BBC1 on a Saturday night, converting his own try as well. The last try was scored by prop idol Benson, picking from the base of the ruck after another lambasting run by the captain. Final score of 29-0 was perhaps not justice to the dominance shown but the team will continue to succeed with performances like that of today.
