A very pleasing win for a Bloxham team who led for much of the match. King’s played a significant part in a hard fought contest, in tricky conditions.
Bloxham started brightly, having a number of early opportunities. However, difficulties at the lineout, combined with some careless offloads meant it took longer than it should have for Bloxham to take the lead. S.Goode pounced on a spilled ball to score a good individual try. King’s then battled back, with a series of penalties resulting in a yellow card for R.Smith just before half time.
Early in the second half a penalty exchange left the game at 3-10. Then King’s possession finally told and they pulled level at 10-10. It then appeared that J.Baldwin had scored but the referee felt it was short and awarded possession to King’s who promptly scored to make it 15-10.
With under ten minutes to play. J.Baldwin scored a good individual try under the posts, which was converted to provide a final score of 17-15.
