A change to the scheduled fixture, with Bloxham playing Mount St Mary’s for the first time. Bloxham dominated the opening exchanges, with a penalty and a try from prop, Riven S taking the home side into an 8-0 lead. Mount then came into the game dominating possession for a prolonged period but Bloxham held firm, repelling a number of attacks.
A try from skipper John B, converted by Sonny G took Bloxham to a 15-0 lead. Sonny added another penalty to make the score 18-0.
Throughout the game Mount had at least an equal share of possession and as the game entered the final third this share increased. Bloxham began to tire and Mount scored to take the game to 18-7 after a rare lapse in the Bloxham defence. A run of penalties and a yellow card for the excellent Charlie M led to a second try for Mount.
Bloxham went close through Junior D, earning a penalty in the following phases taking the game to 21-14. Unfortunately Bloxham couldn’t quite hold on and were very unfortunate to concede with the final play of the game.
